Loveland Week 11: Rockin’, Rollin’, and Really Tired of Bike Drama

Week 11 at Loveland RV Resort was a mix of concert tour, road trip shenanigans, customer service nightmare, and foodie heaven. Strap in, friends - it was a ride.

Rockin’ with Box of Rocks

I got to hit the stage again with Box of Rocks - this time at Grey Rock Sports Bar. Great crowd, great music, and the perfect excuse to belt it out with some talented friends. By the end of the night, I was equal parts exhausted and exhilarated.

Road Trip to Cheyenne

The besties (Alex & Bruce) and Darren and I went on a mini adventure north to Cheyenne, Wyoming. The goal: ride the Cheyenne Greenway, a 45-mile multi-use trail that winds through parks, neighborhoods, and open space.

Now, here’s the twist: Darren had to ride my old lavender Lectric 2.0 XP Lite instead of his shiny new e-bike. Why? Because of the Great Lectric Bike Saga of 2025 (see rant below). The lavender look is definitely a vibe though - I told him it brings out his eyes.

Afterward, we made the most unnecessary, but so me, stop at Menards - because nothing screams “road trip” like wandering the aisles of a hardware store for no reason at all.

And on the drive back, we spotted a Buc-ee’s billboard referencing Ferris Bueller’s Day Off - a wink from the universe since Logan had just watched it last week for the first time. Life moves pretty fast…so does Buc-ee’s brisket sandwich line.

Movie Nights

We had Logan over for dinner (homemade, because we’re fancy) and introduced him to the Jack Ryan universe. Our launch pad: The Hunt for Red October. I think the Cold War thriller held up surprisingly well, though Sean Connery’s Russian accent was still…Sean Connery.

The Never-Ending Bike Drama

Back to Darren’s e-bike saga - it’s still dragging on longer than The Lord of the Rings extended edition.

  • The bike shop accidentally shipped off someone else’s Lectric bike instead of ours. Luckily, they caught it before it left Colorado. Bad news: it bounced back to our friends’ house (where our 4.0 bikes were originally delivered), then had to be fetched again.

  • It took a full week just to get Darren’s broken bike boxed and shipped out to Phoenix.

  • Lectric originally promised that once the courier scanned it as “in progress,” Darren’s replacement bike would ship immediately. Spoiler alert: nope. Instead, they told the shop the replacement wouldn’t go out until they actually received the broken bike.

After weeks of this nonsense, Darren called them directly. They finally promised to ship the replacement “in the next few days,” plus tossed him a $50 accessory credit. I told him to get a lavender basket for his troubles.

RV Fixes and Fun

We finally found a replacement RV tech (see episode Week 4) to come out to fix our Brinkley brakes. Shout-out to Bill 🙌 from Little's NoCo Repairs. Thankfully, the work was all under warranty, so it didn’t cost us a dime. Remember our post about the Brinkley Rally in April? We’d already had the brake seals repacked, so imagine our surprise when Bill pulled apart the wheels this week and found that two brake seals were actually missing altogether. How does that even happen?! We’ll probably never know, but we do know we’re grateful nothing went sideways (literally) during our travels from Tennessee to Colorado.

Bill didn’t miss a beat - he swapped out all four brake assemblies in under two hours, leaving us road-ready and a whole lot more confident in our stopping power.

To balance the adulting, Alex and I carved out some girl time. First, we hit a local indoor community pool with a lazy river. I was all in on the floaty relaxation vibe - until I realized we were outnumbered 5 to 1 by splashy kids.

Then we switched to a calmer crafting day for more prep for the Ren Faire/Pirate Fest. Trinkets, baubles, and glue gun burns - what more could a girl want?

Foodie Highlight of the Week

Logan's best friend's parents, Nancy & Mark, had us over for dinner. As an homage to Nancy's heritage, we were spoiled with:

  • Smoked pork

  • Rice & beans

  • Plantains - two ways!

  • And the mojito pitcher to end all mojito pitchers.

If I could, I’d replay that dinner every week on a loop. Good friends + Cuban comfort food = absolute win.

Between rocking out, rolling down trails, and rolling my eyes at Lectric customer service, Week 11 had its fair share of highs and lows. But hey - that’s RV life. A little chaos, a lot of fun, and always something to laugh about.

Cheers!
