February 2025: Our second week at Wekiva Falls Resort has been a whirlwind of adventure, music, and - because Florida - random wildlife encounters. (Did you know wild hogs sound like a herd of elephants when rustling through the brush? Neither did we!) From epic bike rides to belting out tunes, this week has been all about good times and great company.
Biking Through the Beauty of Seminole County
Florida is a paradise for biking enthusiasts (as long as you don’t mind occasional alligator side-eyes), and we took full advantage of the many trails in the area.
🚴♀️ Seminole Wekiva Trail – A smooth, paved path with murals, nature views, and the occasional dog walker giving their pup an existential crisis about our bikes.
🚴♀️ Lower Wekiva River Preserve State Trail – Less paved, more rustic. This one felt like we were on an Indiana Jones-style expedition, minus the giant boulders (but possibly plus a few snakes).
🚴♂️ Wekiwa Springs State Park – Markham Woods Trail – A mix of sandy and shaded paths that led us to some incredible views. And by ‘views,’ I mean a deer giving us side-eye like it was judging our cardio fitness.
Love, Gardens, and Noodles
Valentine’s Day was a little different this year—no fancy dinner, no over-the-top gifts, just a perfect day exploring Leu Gardens in Orlando. Acres of flowers, winding paths, and a whole lot of butterflies showing off their aerial acrobatics.
One of the highlights was the Origami in the Garden Art Walk. This stunning outdoor exhibit featured massive metal sculptures inspired by the Japanese art of paper folding. Seeing delicate paper cranes and intricate animals transformed into larger-than-life steel masterpieces was truly mesmerizing. It was a unique blend of nature and creativity, making our Valentine’s stroll even more magical.
Lunch? Oh, we went all-in at Hawkers Asian Street Food. Baos, coconut shrimp, and other spicy goodness that made us briefly consider abandoning RV life to become full-time food critics. If you go, order the Roti Canai. Trust us.

Karaoke: Now With More Florida Friends!
Friday and Saturday nights at the Wekiva Falls clubhouse mean one thing—karaoke. But this time, we had backup. Our Florida crew showed up, and let’s just say, the locals weren’t ready.
🎤 Ramon was a ringer. This man has pipes, and when he hit the "stage", people’s jaws hit the floor. We’re talking standing ovations, whispers of “is he famous?” and at least one person clutching their chest dramatically.
🎤 I jumped in for harmonies on ‘Tennessee Whiskey’ with Ramon. Because if you have the chance to sing with a powerhouse, you take it.
🎤 The crowd? Completely blown away. We may or may not have received free drinks in appreciation.
Wrapping Up Another Week in Paradise
Between biking through nature, feasting on Asian street food, and unofficially becoming Wekiva’s karaoke champions, this week was one for the books. Florida, you’re treating us well.
Cheers!
