Week 7 at Splash RV Resort: Gingerbread, Grinches & (Still) No Bingo Wins

December 2025: Week 7 at Splash RV Resort started on a bittersweet note as we said goodbye to DeeDee and Jim, who were heading back to Texas for the holidays. We packed a lot of laughs, music, and memories into our time together, and while it’s never fun to see friends roll out, that’s part of life on the road—paths cross, rigs part ways, and you trust that the road will bring you back together again. We had an absolute blast with them and hope our travels line up again down the road.

With the weather turning cooler, the beginning of the week leaned hard into cozy mode. We put together some homemade charcuterie (because adulthood means calling snacks a “board”) and settled in to catch up on Stranger Things. Cold weather outside, good food, good company, and creepy upside-down vibes inside—pretty much a perfect RV evening. I also fully took advantage of the chill to dive headfirst into Christmas movie season. If there was a twinkly-light romance, a small town saving Christmas, or an overly enthusiastic bakery involved, I probably watched it.

Pedaling… Sort Of

We squeezed in a few bike rides around the RV park, but mostly stayed closer to home this week. The weather wasn’t exactly screaming “Let’s ride for miles!” so our bikes saw more casual cruising than ambitious exploring. As a result, there aren’t many photos—because, well… you’ve already seen us on bikes. Again. And again. And again.

Cards, Clubhouse & Good Company

Several evenings were spent in the clubhouse playing cards with Don and Janet, which has quickly become one of our favorite low-key traditions. There’s something perfect about shuffling cards, trash-talking your friends (lovingly), and laughing until someone forgets whose deal it is. The Splash clubhouse continues to be the unofficial living room of the park—warm, welcoming, and always buzzing with friendly faces.

Karaoke… Now Featuring the Grinch

Karaoke night rolled around again, but Mother Nature said “Nope” to the Bier Garden. Too cold. So, we cozied up inside the clubhouse—and honestly, it worked.

This round of karaoke brought new energy with LuAnn and Mitch, full-time Splash residents, joining in along with their families. The crowd was lively, the singing was… enthusiastic, and the Grinch himself made an appearance. Not only did he tolerate the music, but he busted out a few dance moves, proving once and for all that even a Grinch can’t resist a good karaoke beat.

Saturday’s Christmas Extravaganza

Saturday delivered a full lineup of Christmas treats. Darren stopped by the gingerbread house event, where Splash provided everything—gingerbread, frosting, candy, and chaos. For just $5, participants got a fun, festive afternoon and sugar highs that likely lasted well into the evening.

Later, the resort hosted a Christmas golf cart parade, which is exactly as delightful as it sounds. Decked-out carts, twinkly lights, and lots of holiday spirit cruising through the park—RV resort Christmas at its finest.

And to cap off the day, Hane McLeiash returned as our evening musical entertainment. Familiar songs, relaxed vibes, and another great night of live music right at home.

Music Bingo: Fun to Play, Better to Win

Sunday evening brought us back to music bingo. It’s still fun. Still addictive. Still a great way to test your musical memory.

And once again… we did not win.

We’re starting to think our strategy is flawless—it’s just the winning part that’s missing.

Wrapping Up Week 7

Week 7 wasn’t flashy, but it was full—full of friends (near and far), laughter, holiday cheer, and the comforting rhythm of resort life. These are the weeks that sneak up on you and remind you why slowing down is sometimes the whole point.

Cheers!
