Week 2 at Pechanga RV Resort

November 20224: Hello again from sunny (but sometimes chilly) Temecula! Week two has been a whirlwind of road trips, reunions, and just the right amount of chaos. Here's the scoop on our adventures:

🚗 Thanksgiving Shenanigans: A Full Heart

We took a road trip back to Corona for Thanksgiving dinner with the folks at the home of their best friends, Jen and Tim. The house was alive with warmth and laughter. Along with both of Jen and Tim's mothers and their twin daughters, we were greeted by their two adorable pugs and four curious cats, all adding to the lively holiday atmosphere. It was a full house in the best possible way, and we felt so grateful to be included in their celebration. Sharing a delicious meal surrounded by love and a touch of holiday chaos reminded us how lucky we are to have such wonderful people (and pets!) in our lives.

🐾 Corona Cuddles

We spent the rest of the weekend at my parents' place, and their sweet pup Pepa became our official greeter. Every morning started with her long wagging tail and hopeful eyes (she may or may not have scored some breakfast scraps—I plead the fifth). It’s always good to spend time with family, especially when they bring the dog to the party.

✨ Festival of Lights - or How We Got Glitter Bombed in Riverside

We ventured out to Riverside for the Festival of Lights at the Mission Inn, joining the glowing throng of holiday revelers. The lights were dazzling, the festive music infectious, and the hot cocoa abundant. However, touring the interior of the Mission was off-limits. So, we did the next best thing: shuffled with the herd around the exterior like determined holiday penguins.

When the lights and crowds became a bit too much, we found sanctuary at Estrella Taqueria Lounge, a fantastic little spot where we could sip cocktails, rest our feet, and briefly pretend we were sophisticated downtown dwellers instead of exhausted tourists. Pro tip: The margaritas pair beautifully with people-watching through holiday crowds.

🌊 Long Beach Love Fest

Next up was a road trip to Long Beach to visit Aunt Donna, Uncle Ronny, and Cousin Christy, who were all glowing with joy (or maybe that was just Greta, their new long-haired dachshund puppy stealing the show). Greta wiggled her way into our hearts faster than you can say, “Puppy kisses!” I’m still finding dog hair on my jacket, but it was worth it.

💦 Hot Tub Chronicles

Back at Pechanga, the hot tub became our sanctuary after a day of adventure. Whether it was recovering from sleeping wonky, shaking off the soreness from long bike rides, or decompressing from the nail-biting drama of Southern California freeway traffic, those bubbling jets worked miracles. There’s something magical about watching the steam rise under the stars while your body lets out a collective ahhh. It’s the perfect remedy for RV life’s quirks—and it quickly became a nightly ritual!

We loved every second of soaking in family time and festive fun this week. Stay tuned for next week’s adventures, where we hit wineries and breweries before we vacate Temecula. 😉

Until next time, stay warm and keep chasing that 78° life!

Cheers!

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Chasing78Life is a blog that was created to document our journey of living full-time in an RV and the adventures that come with it while chasing 78 degrees. We are a couple of empty nesters who decided to retire early and hit the road. We are new to the RV life and don’t have a ton of experience, but we are passionate about life and travel.

Through this blog, we want to share our experiences, tips and tricks as we travel around the US. We hope to inspire others to pursue their dreams and make the most of life.
