June 2024: We purchased the Brinkley Z3400 instead of the Z3100 we originally intended. The 3400 has a few more features than the 3100 and swayed us over to its side. So now here we are, temporarily settled at our friend’s lake house. And let me tell you—if you’ve got to hit pause on life, a lakeside retreat is the way to do it.
Every day feels like a postcard. Sunsets over the water, birds serenading you as you sip your coffee (him) or tea (me), and the gentle lapping of waves making it impossible to feel anything but peaceful. It’s the kind of place that makes you forget what a “to-do list” even is—unless it involves deciding between another glass of wine or a second nap.

We’re beyond grateful to have landed in such a beautiful spot. Our friends have been incredibly generous, offering us a space to recharge, and it’s impossible to ignore how lucky we are. Life may be a bit uncertain right now, but when your temporary home looks like a vacation destination, it’s hard to complain.
Of course, there’s excitement in the air too. Every day brings a sense of new possibilities—will we try paddleboarding? Will we spot a heron? Or will we just sit on the deck pretending we’re outdoorsy while basking in the sun? The answers are probably not, definitely yes, and most likely.

For now, this chapter feels like a mix of relaxation and reinvention. We may not know exactly where we’re headed next, but we’ll take every golden sunset and calm morning for as long as we can. After all, there’s something magical about hitting pause and finding peace by the water.
Cheers to new beginnings, lake vibes, and friends who let you crash in style.
