March 2025: Week two at Creekfire RV Resort had us leaning hard into the “vacation” part of this lifestyle, and let me just say - it did not disappoint. Savannah continued to charm the heck out of us with its moss-draped squares, riverfront strolls, and perfectly chilled cocktails. But the real cherry on top? Getting to share it all with our favorite locals, Claudia & Chandler (aka our Savannah social directors).
A Garden of Midnight, Good, Evil & Cusack
We kicked off the week with a cozy movie night, re-watching Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil (me) and watching it for the first time (Darren). John Cusack is, and forever will be, my cinematic soulmate. The movie holds up - with all the mystery, drama, and Southern flair you could ask for. Plus, it set the mood for our week of Savannah adventures.
Movie Moments at Clary’s Café
Inspired by the movie, we joined Claudia & Chandler for lunch at Clary’s Café, a real-deal local diner where scenes from the film were shot. Eggs, grits, and good conversation flowed freely, and I may or may not have tried to order whatever John Cusack had. (It was probably just coffee. I got the corned beef hash.)
Strolling Through History
Armed with cold drinks and Chandler’s brain full of Savannah history (seriously, how does he remember all this stuff?), we wandered through the city’s famous squares. Each one is its own little emerald pocket of beauty and drama. I swear, every park bench has a story - and Chandler knows them all.

Riverside Wandering & Prehistoric Vibes
The JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District was a jaw-dropper. This hotel was formed from an old defunct power plant; however, from the moment we stepped into the lobby, dazzling geodes, dino bones, and fossils surrounded us. I think I squealed audibly at the life-size chrome dinosaur.
Day Drinking & Duckpin Shenanigans
Let’s talk about Moodrights - the dive bar/duckpin bowling hybrid I didn’t know I needed in my life. With Claudia & Chandler and their crew (hi to Jo, Grace, and Scott!), we had an afternoon of laughter, light beer, and tiny bowling. A little about our new friends:
Jo is a total boss working high up at the Port Authority.
Grace & Scott are basically travel fairies - living out of suitcases, no camper in sight, just vibes and Airbnbs.
It felt like a reunion of fun strangers who all brought something weird and wonderful to the table.
🍽️ Dinner, Dessert & Deep Friendships
That evening, we hit up the legendary Crystal Beer Parlor, where the food was phenomenal, the company even better, and the chocolate dessert? Let’s just say if loving it is wrong, I don’t wanna be right.

Tybee Island: Toes in the Sand, Drink in Hand
We ventured out to Tybee Island for sun, sea air, and a seafood pit stop at The Crab Shack - a funky, no-frills waterside gem with cold drinks and a bunch of lazy alligators sunbathing nearby. You haven’t lived until you’ve had a margarita while locking eyes with a gator.
Bonaventure Cemetery: Spooky but Make It Gorgeous
Chandler drove us around on a private tour of Bonaventure Cemetery, and wow. Between the mossy oaks, hauntingly beautiful monuments, and the hush of history around every corner, it was like walking through an epic poem. Chandler’s narration made it feel personal and powerful - like a real-life sequel to our movie night.
So yeah - week two in Savannah was one for the books (or the blog!). From Hollywood nostalgia to island escapades and the best people we could ask for, this city gave us all the Southern charm we could handle.
Cheers to Claudia & Chandler for being the hosts with the mosts - and to Savannah for always showing off in the best way.
Cheers!
