Enjoying the Wine Life: Temecula Wrap-Up

December 2024: Greetings, friends and fellow adventurers!

Our third week in Temecula at the Pechanga RV Park has been nothing short of fabulous - a perfect blend of wine, music, and family time. Let me tell you, Temecula knows how to make a wine-lover’s heart sing!

First off, we did what anyone in Temecula with a thirst for vino would do: we toured the wineries. And by “toured,” I mean we sipped, strolled, and shamelessly pretended to know what "tannins" are. Each winery seemed to have its own unique vibe, from rustic farm charm to sleek modern elegance. But the real cherry (or grape?) on top was the live music on the patios. Imagine the scene: golden-hour sunshine, a smooth glass of Cab Sav, and acoustic melodies floating on the breeze. Perfection.

Speaking of music, we stumbled across an absolute gem of a musician - Travis Guilliams. This guy had us tapping our feet and humming along in no time. We first heard him at a winery and were so smitten that we basically became groupies for the week! When we found out he was playing at a local restaurant bar, the Gambling Cowboy, we made a beeline for it. Let’s just say he didn’t disappoint, and neither did the food. Travis, if you’re reading this, we’re officially your biggest fans (and possibly your most loyal wine-drinking audience).

While we were soaking in the Temecula vibes, we also milked every last moment with my dad, stepmom, and their adorable dog, Pepa. Pepa, a large bull terrier with a kind spirit, was an absolute delight to have around. She’s not one to typically “beg” for food, but she has no qualms about muscling her way onto the couch to snuggle up beside you. Pepa also has an uncanny fascination with electronic screens - if she sees one, she must have total control. We’re talking literally nose-swiping pages! And if there’s a dog on TV? Forget it. She’ll whine, jump, and practically try to leap into the screen to join her canine comrades. Spending time with her, my dad, and stepmom was a joy and a reminder of how entertaining and heartwarming family moments can be.

One highlight of the week was a girl’s day out at the Pomona Fair Grounds Harvest Festival. My stepmom, Lynn, her best friend, Jen, and I joined the throngs of shoppers on the hunt for handmade and unique Christmas gifts. The festival was a feast for the senses:  brightly decorated booths, the scent of holiday spices in the air, and an endless array of one-of-a-kind treasures. We laughed, chatted, and walked away with bags full of goodies (and maybe a few treats for ourselves). It was the perfect way to kick off the holiday spirit.

As we pack up to hit the road again, we’re leaving with full hearts and, let’s be honest, slightly fuller waistlines (thanks, wine tastings and bar bites). Temecula, you’ve been a dream, and Pechanga RV Park, you’ve been the ultimate home base. Until next time, cheers to chasing 78° and living the good life!

Stay tuned for our next adventure, and don’t forget to raise a glass to all the little joys along the way.

Cheers!

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Chasing78Life is a blog that was created to document our journey of living full-time in an RV and the adventures that come with it while chasing 78 degrees. We are a couple of empty nesters who decided to retire early and hit the road. We are new to the RV life and don’t have a ton of experience, but we are passionate about life and travel.

Through this blog, we want to share our experiences, tips and tricks as we travel around the US. We hope to inspire others to pursue their dreams and make the most of life.

Let the posts
