Week 3 at Creekfire RV Resort – Savannah, GA
If this RV life has taught us anything, it’s that every “temporary stop” has the potential to sneak into your heart - and our third week at Creekfire RV Resort was proof of that. We came for the mild temps and mossy oaks. We stayed for the mid-century homes, blooming camellias, and friends who somehow went from “acquaintance-adjacent” to “how-do-we-road-trip-together-again?”

🚴♀️ Pedals, Petals, and Picture-Perfect Streets
We kicked things off with a chef’s kiss of a bike ride along the Harry Truman Bike Path, winding our way toward Lake Mayer Community Park. And speaking of charm - camellias. So. Many. Camellia plants. 🌸 The Savannah Camellia Project has been quietly turning the city into a blooming masterpiece, and the city was definitely flaunting its landscaping prowess!
Let’s just say: if you like your neighborhoods like you like your cocktails - balanced, nostalgic, and with a garnish of mossy drama - then this route is for you. The Mid-Century Modern homes we rolled past had us slowing down just to gawk (and okay, mentally redecorate them). Turns out, Savannah knows how to do charm without even trying.
Also, shoutout to the live oaks draped in Spanish moss, swaying gently like they’ve been cast as extras in a moody southern drama - equal parts elegant and a little eerie, like they’re keeping centuries of secrets just out of reach.

Live Tunes & Libations
The week wasn’t just about foliage and bike shorts - it was also a full-on music tour. Our partners-in-fun for the week, Claudia & Chandler, invited us along with Grace & Scott and Jo for a little Savannah nightlife sampler platter.
First stop: a rooftop serenade with Rhyan & Toni. Rhyan (daughter of Claudia & Chandler’s longtime friends Julian & Toni) played acoustic tunes with Toni harmonizing along. The sounds floated across the open sky like a lullaby with a wine buzz. In the late afternoon the vibe was mellow, the breeze was just right, and the expansive view of Savannah’s river district stretched out below us like something from a movie. It was the kind of moment you want to bottle up - equal parts peaceful, picturesque, and perfectly Savannah.
Then we ditched the mellow for a gritty good time at The Warehouse Bar & Grille on the Savannah riverfront. The Anders Thomsen Trio brought the kind of honky-tonk heat that makes you want to order a whiskey and tell strangers your life story. Which we maybe did.
Finally, because no night is complete without a little stage fright and a dive bar microphone - we ended the evening with me belting out some of my fave karaoke tunes at Bay Street Blues, one of Savannah’s finest “don’t judge the sticky floor” establishments. Things kicked off with a gang of woo-woo’ing bachelorette girls who tried (and failed) to harmonize their way through a Spice Girls classic. We all braced for karaoke disaster… but then, out of nowhere, a massive 6’5” 'frat-bro' guy in a short-sleeved button up, khaki shorts, and crocks - looking more like he belonged at a yacht club than a dive bar - absolutely unleashed a Billy Joel ballad that silenced the room and made us all want to slow clap.
And just when I thought my own mic time was over, a total stranger asked if I’d duet “Broken” by Seether with him. Now, I’ve definitely rocked it solo in the car, but never live. Turns out? We nailed it. I mean, we won’t be opening for Seether anytime soon, but for one gritty, beer-slicked night - it felt like we could’ve.
From “Who Are They Again?” to “Don’t Leave Us”
The hardest part of Week 3? Saying “see you later” to this crew. It’s wild how people you didn’t really know a month ago can feel like lifers by the third shared meal and fourth shared adult beverage. Claudia & Chandler, Grace & Scott, Jo - you all turned what could’ve been just another week into one of those weeks. The kind that makes you believe in kismet, kindred spirits, and the power of an unexpected friendship.
As RVers, we get used to goodbyes. But this one? This one tugged a little harder. We’ve got digits, socials, and big dreams of a future meetup. Until then - cheers to the roads that bring the right people into your life… even if it’s just for a few weeks.
Cheers!
