Burritos, Bikes, and Baubles in Corona, CA - Part 2

November 2024: Our second week at Canyon RV Park was a delightful mix of food adventures, scenic bike rides, and a surprise dive into Renaissance Faire prep. From epic burritos to shiny treasures, here’s the rundown of all the fun.

Cali Tacos: Burrito Bliss

I’ve been dreaming about Cali Tacos ever since I spotted their burritos on Instagram back in Colorado. These beauties are the size of your head, filled with perfectly seasoned carne asada, fresh guac, and all the taco trimmings you could ask for. They didn’t just meet the hype—they demolished it. One bite in, and I knew I’d made the right call.

Day Trip to the Orange Circle: Antiques, Tacos, and Treasure

My parents suggested we take a day trip to the Orange Circle which is the historical district of Orange, CA. The Circle charmed us with its old-town vibes and a treasure trove of antique and thrift shops. After a morning of rummaging through quirky finds, I scored a mason jar packed with shiny baubles, bits, and trinkets—basically the jackpot for my latest project. These little treasures are destined to become Renaissance Faire trinkets for trading. (Yes, I’ve officially gone full medieval nerd, and I’m not mad about it.)

We capped the day with tacos at a hidden gem of a restaurant. The crispy shells, bold flavors, and fresh toppings were a culinary highlight, rivaling even the burritos from earlier in the week.

Pedal Power: Trails and Triumphs

Our bike rides took us everywhere this week, from the Santa Ana River Trail to Yorba Linda Regional Park, with a few neighborhood detours thrown in. The ultimate challenge was conquering the steep hill to my dad’s house. It wasn’t pretty, but we made it, and the downhill ride back was all the sweeter for it.

Wallpaper Wonders

When we weren’t out and about, I tackled a couple of mini home improvement projects in the RV. The bathroom and bedroom got fresh looks with some new wallpaper, and while the process was more “sweaty puzzle” than “Pinterest perfect,” the result was totally worth it. Now our little home-on-wheels feels even cozier.

Final Thoughts

This week brought us tacos, treasures, and a touch of DIY magic. The mason jar of baubles might just be my favorite find—proof that every adventure holds unexpected gems. With more trails, tacos, and treasures waiting ahead, we can’t wait to see what next week brings.

We are a couple of empty nesters who decided to retire early and hit the road. We are new to the RV life and don’t have a ton of experience, but we are passionate about life and travel.

Through this blog, we want to share our experiences, tips and tricks as we travel around the US. We hope to inspire others to pursue their dreams and make the most of life.
