October 2024: Well, folks, these last two shows with KD & the Painkillers were something special! I’d love to say they were "just another night," but honestly, they felt more like a wild reunion mixed with the last day of summer camp—and all the emotions that come with it.
The crowds were epic! Friends, old and new, came out in full force to cheer, dance, and sing along. It felt like every familiar face from the last nine years showed up, plus some new ones that fit right into the party!
As we ran through our setlists, which were just as diverse and unpredictable as we are, there was this electric feeling in the air. We played everything from classic rock to some funky deep cuts and, finally, Rock & Roll by Led Zeppelin. Let me tell you, belting out that tune for the first and last time was a rush like no other!
Performing with this crew has been more than just singing and playing instruments together. We started as bandmates, but after nearly a decade of late-night shows, ridiculous stories, and terrible dad jokes, we’re leaving as family. It’s bittersweet to think these were our “last” shows together, but I’m beyond grateful for the memories, the growth, and the laughs that came with every single note.
A huge thank you to our fans—every single one of you who made this journey worthwhile. And to my bandmates: thanks for being my Painkillers for almost 10 years!
Cheers!
